Get Paid To Play Video Games – Beta Testing Computer Games

November 15th, 2009

Back then when I was a kid, my mother was always angry when I play video games too much. Well, I cannot blame her, back then life was tough if the only thing you know were how to play video games.

Today, the story is different now. You don’t need to feel inferior anymore if the only thing you know is how to play video games because today you can get paid to play video games. I mean not just get paid, you can get a salary as much as what MBA graduates earn.

1. The Catch

The only catch is in order to become a beta game tester, you need to understand some technical know-how of the video games and console you play. That’s the only catch. So start now with reading some game magazines and websites.

2. Game Review

You can start your gaming career at the comfort of your home with writing game review. If your reviews are good, some gaming companies will be interested in hiring you. Start a blog and tell your friends or post it on gaming forum. This will quickly attract the attention of some gaming companies.

One trick I like to do is to write an Amazon review. Every time there is a new release, I will buy the game, play it in a week and write pros and cons at Amazon website.

3. Writing A Guide

A lot of people will love to pay if you can show them how to complete the game. Many will prefer to read the solution rather than wandering aimlessly for hours.

Just take a look at world of warcraft guides online; people all over the world are willing to pay money to get this guide.

All online games are good subject to turn into ebook. You can sell it on Ebay and get cash this weekend.

If you want to learn how to get paid to play games, i highly recommend gamer testing ground. Check out my in depth gamer testing ground review and learn how to make as much as $5000 per month play testing video games.

Computer Game Tester Jobs – Play for Pay

November 6th, 2009

The primary task undertaken by a professional game tester is the repeated organized testing of video games to discover, identify, and report bugs in the game to enable game programmers to correct the code causing those bugs. The work is repetitive, sometimes tedious. The game is played over and over again, often the repeated playing of one small game event using different tactics and strategies in an attempt to reveal an error. The game tester’s mission is to ensure that all bugs are found before game release, by him rather than after release by the customer.

The average week for a game tester is about 35 hours, although overtime can be significant during the crunch time immediately before the scheduled release date. Evening, weekend, and holiday work schedules are not unheard of. Most game testing is conducted onsite at the game company’s offices.

Experience is important in determining a game tester’s salary, but it’s not necessary to have any previous experience testing games to get your first job as a game tester. It’s important only that you enjoy playing video games and can do so for the purpose of revealing bugs and documenting the conditions under which they appear.

Game testers come from varied backgrounds, education, and degree of game playing experience. Some are artists or graphic designers who are using the game testing opportunities to establish credibility within the gaming company in the hopes of moving into character creation or game programming positions in the future. Regardless of their backgrounds, they all share some common characteristics: excellent oral and written communications skills, persistence and a willingness to play games repeatedly for long periods, a methodical and analytical approach to testing, ability to pay attention to detail, and a love for playing video games.

There is a need by all gaming companies to find good candidates for testing their games to ensure that only well tested, trouble-free products go out on the market. Nothing could damage a company’s reputation more than having to recall a game that simply does not work correctly. For many gamers with the right attitude, it can be a dream job, an opening into a career helping to develop video games. Imagine being able to earn a good income by playing video games, something you’ve been doing for years for nothing.

A word of warning, however, is required. Don’t let your enthusiasm for entering the industry blind to the fact that there are a number of scam artists out there, especially on the Internet, who are trying to make a fast buck by exploiting your interest for a game testing position. If any offer requires you to pay money up front for helping you secure game testing employment-walk away. It’s a scam. Video game companies that are looking for game testers will advertise in newspapers, industry journals, or on their company websites.

If you are wanting to become a video game tester then I highly recommend you check out Game Testing Ground, you can earn up to $150 A Day!

Computer Games For Children To Play

November 3rd, 2009

There are a multitude of action games for your child to play. If they are between the age of 3 to 5 here are some suggestions in the order or popularity. They are Hot Dog Bush, Greedy’s Bakery, Sling Shot Santa or Wonderball. Each of these games is very different, but all take eye and hand coordination.

Hot Dog Bush is the favorite game of choice and is the easiest. With this game the object is to make as many hotdogs and serve them to your waiting customers as you possibly can. You must wait until a customer is asking for a hotdog, the customer doesn’t speak of course, you just see a picture of what all they want on their hotdogs. You get the bun, place it on the counter, cook the wiener and place it in the bun. If the customer wants ketchup or any other condiment, you place that on the hotdog and give to the customer. The customer then pays you and more customers will come up. If you do not put your money in the cash register, then no more customers will approach the hotdog stand. You are required to make so much money per day. If you meet the quota, then you have won the day!

Greedy’s Bakery is based on the Smurfs! It is an adorable game of catch the food with all the graphics that the old Smurf cartoons had in them. Greedy is trying to catch all of the food that two other Smurfs are throwing to him. To help Greedy catch the food, you must move Greedy with the arrow keys. You lose a life each time that Greedy misses the food. You win a life when Greedy catches the food. As soon as the food hits Greedy’s plate, it disappears and the score goes up! You only have four lives. This game does not last long, so a child with a short attention span will enjoy this game.

Sling Shot Santa is a more difficult game. There are two elves that are pushing a slingshot on the snow. Using the arrow keys to push Santa, they speed up as long as you are pressing the keys. If you want to sling shot Santa, then you must press the space bar key. Santa will either do one of three things. If you have chosen to sling shot him at the right time, he will be shot over the ravine. If you fall short of the mark, or if you do not get going fast enough, then poor Santa lands on the ice face first! If you get to going too fast and are too close to the ravine, then Santa and the elves fall through to the hard ground below. This game takes more thinking skill than younger kids have. Trying to get Santa over the ravine was even hard for me (and I am an adult). Sometimes I think you just get lucky and Santa flies over! You don’t actually see Santa hit the ground – that was the saving grace of this game.

Wonderball is another game for children with short attention spans. Again using your arrow keys and your space bar, a small robot tries to throw a ball up at some bricks to knock them out. A little on the destructive side, but it is cute when the ball bounces back, hits the ground and then is able to knock some more bricks out! A fast paced game which also requires hand and eye coordination!

Play Horse Racing Computer Games Solo Or With Other Players

May 10th, 2009

Long distance horse riding falls into two main categories, competitive trail riding and endurance rides. Endurance riding is recognized as one of the most popular forms of equestrian sports all over the world. It is chiefly based on controlled long distance races. In the US, majority of the endurance rides are usually 50 or 100 miles long and are governed by the AERC or the American Endurance Ride Conference.

Shorter rides known as Limited Distance Competition are also organized but are meant for new riders or young horses under training. Endurance riding is one of the many international competitions recognized by the FEI. In UK, Endurance GB sanctions endurance rides. Any breed can compete in an endurance ride. However, Arabian horses are more commonly used due to their stamina and endurance abilities.

Comparatively competitive trail rides are of shorter duration and elements other than speed are also regarded. Factors such as rider behavior, veterinary checks and factors also play an important role in the placings. If you like watching horse races as well as playing video games, then horse racing computer games are definitely meant for you. Or you could also download horse racing games for free.

Different countries follow different rules. An endurance race can be of any distance but for a one day competition, they are seldom over 160 km. It was in the year 1955 that organized endurance riding was started as a formal equestrian sport. However, endurance riding was introduced in Europe only in the 1960s.

Prior to an endurance ride, a thorough inspection of the horses is done by a veterinarian. This is essential in order to verify whether or not the horses are fit to participate in the ride. Besides this, riders are also provided with a map of the course that they will have to follow. The map illustrates not only the riding route but also natural obstacles as well as the places for compulsory halts.

You too can enjoy the experience of an endurance ride when you play horse racing computer games. A wide variety of different types of horse racing computer games are available online.

Want to Get Paid to Play Games?! Become a Computer Game Tester!

April 28th, 2009

Imagine being able to turn on your Xbox 360 and boot up the next Gears of War game before anyone else. Now imagine getting to play a portion of the game and kick locusts butt from the comfort of your own home (no standing in a line at convention booths) at your own pace. Now imagine getting paid to do all of this! Amazing, huh? Well guess what, this is the life for thousands of people that have become computer game testers!

If you’re interested in becoming a computer game tester, however, you need to know some key things about the industry and how to break in. This article will cover the basics to get you started.

First of all, computer game testing isn’t as glamorous as you may believe. Yeah, you get paid to test video games for companies, but all of your time isn’t spent getting head shots in Halo or leveling up your characters in World of Warcraft. No, a majority of your tasks as computer game tester will be almost remedial things like testing a character’s walk and run speeds and exploring locations to the fullest.

It can get pretty boring. But the time you spend doing the other stuff is what you always hear about. And for good reason, the job has its ups and downs, like any jobs, but the parts that you really enjoy are naturally going to come to the surface. If after hearing this you’re still interested in computer game testing, then read on.

What You Need to Know

What most would be video game testers don’t realize is that they need to have a lot more experience in video games than simply owning a console or dozens of games. It’s certainly helpful, but in truth game developing companies are looking for people who have other skills- such as programming knowledge and coding experience. They aren’t required, per say, but think about it like this- if you could hire a master chef to head up your fast food restaurant, why not take him over the guy who simply has work experience at a classier restaurant? Keep in mind, though, that you don’t have to have a wealth of experience programming etc., but make sure you can at least compete- start looking at C++ tutorials online.

What You Will Get Paid

The big question for most people isn’t anything concerning experience or qualifications, but instead, what they can expect the pay to be like. And this is also one that, well, is just plain impossible to say. You can expect above minimum wage, for sure, but every testing job is different. The simpler ones naturally won’t be as high paying as the harder ones.

You may be paid a few tens of dollars to test a game’s menu screen functionality and save features. But if you do something harder, like explore an environment and chart all the glitches you can (a full day’s work, maybe more depending on the game environment), then you may pick up a couple hundred!

How to Find the Jobs

Video game testers aren’t your normal breed of worker- and the industry is certainly not your normal industry. To really get into the field you’ll need connections like almost no other career, which can be difficult. But you can definitely get them if you look in the right places. Don’t try the classified ads for game testing jobs- no game publishers or developers will list there simply because they’ve got more applications from people like you coming to their door! Being one of the thousands is also not the best plan; you need to stand out. How can you do that? There are a lot of ways- knowing programming languages fairly well or being a game tournament champion, for example.

Becoming a computer game tester is not something for the faint of heart. Make sure you really understand what you’re getting into before you start. I barely scratched the surface here, but if you want more information on actually getting into the industry, visit:

Good luck!
