3D Video Is Set to extend computer game Sales

December 24th, 2009

When Nintendo games first came out they were simple joystick and button controls, showing 2 dimensional graphics. Such games as Space Invaders and Pacman swept the world by force making their first appearance in arcades then eventually to the customers own home. To think Playstation games made only twenty years ago required a machine the dimensions of an occasional table to be able to run them can now be played on mobile telephones.

With further developments in console systems and PCs Playstation games now have a number of platforms, from the hi tech Sony Playstation 3 capable of running games that contain virtual worlds to the highly interactive Nintendo Wii with motion controls. However there is one platform that continues to get better over time, instead of becoming redundant. This is of course the ceaselessly upgradeable personal Computer ).

But where are we now with current 3D video? 3D rendering is now able to be done in seconds and seconds rather then days and weeks that it might have taken just a couple of years back. This technology is 3D glasses. 3D glasses for those who have not heard about them are glasses with a red hint on one eye and blue hint on the other. This allows different colored photographs to be seen by different eyes making a 3D affect like none else. You may be flying a spaceship around terrain, fighting battle droids in an arena, or maybe playing the classical game of snake all right in front of your eyes. This is technology which has been about for years, being employed in cinemas and Imac’s world wide.

Bring Your Body Back To Shape With The DDR Computer Game

December 6th, 2009

Even though most people around us are way out of a healthy figure, they do not think much about exercising. It’s not that they do not know the consideration of some physical exercise; the important reason is that they are not motivated enough to exercise. And that is true, for someone who has led a more or less stationary life, exercising can be a real pain.

But Dance Dance Revolution has changed all that. Here’s a way by which people can exercise, and that too doing something everybody likes to listening to music and playing a video game to boot! The concept of Dance Dance Revolution is simple. There is a game screen with an arcade game set on it. But instead of the regular joystick or the keyboard controls, there is a dance pad on the floor. Yes, the floor! The dance pad has the four arrow keys. The player has to step on these keys in order to play. So, instead of pressing the arrow keys by hand, the player has to step on the keys.

What’s more fun is that the arcade game plays to music, and you can select the music. People who look upon the Dance Dance Revolution as an exercise machine will do well to begin with a slow tune first. The game will play according to music and you control it by jumping onto the dance pad. It’s actually jumping, but you can convert it into a kind of dance later on as you become proficient. You can loop the same tune so that you keep playing, or you can pause the game and shuffle the track. As you become a proficient at playing the game with slower tunes, you can go on to faster tunes that will give you more exercise.

There’s good reason too you can keep scores. The scores are on the basis of the hits and misses you have had in the game. Naturally, if you want to improve on the scores, you will have to play faster the next time. And that means more exercise. But, drawn to the game, people do exercise more and more on Dance Dance Revolution.

Experts believe that people can burn more calories through the Dance Dance Revolution than with any other method that they can do indoors. There is a psychological reason for that actually. Since people like the songs and the game keeps them hooked, they do not know that they are actually exercising. That means, they exercise for a longer time than on other methods. That is the reason why some doctors have started prescribing exercises on the Dance Dance Revolution. Just about fifteen minutes of exercising on this machine can give very good results at weight loss, but with a Dance Dance Revolution in your home, you might certainly end up exercising much more than you ever intended to.

Sean is a great fan of Dance Dance Revolution. Read some of his reviews why he is a fan at the following website:

Affiliate Marketing – the Ultimate Computer Game

December 3rd, 2009

I’m not a gamer. However, when my son was younger, he and I tackled a computer strategy game together. In the game, the player became the main character wandering through a strange land seeking a great reward. Along the way, he encountered both helpers and hinderers. Through these encounters, our hero found opportunities to increase his strength and cunning. That describes affiliate marketing – a feat of strategy that can offer great rewards to those who acquire strength and cunning.

Life Force

It’s Game Over when your character runs out of life force. In our game, life force is measured by the number of visitors to your website. Of primary importance to an affiliate marketer is creating ways to attract visitors. Internet users are seeking information and entertainment. Build a site that offers one or both of these along with an element of uniqueness and you will have the potential for an abundance of life force.

Strength

There’s strength in numbers is certainly true in internet marketing. Find ways to place your link on other sites. Look for sites that are relevant to your own content. Those fellow website owners who will exchange links or write features about your site are important helpers in gaining strength.

Forums are a place where you can personally interact with other internet users. These interactions can result in drawing more visitors to your site. Many forums allow you to post your link along with your signature. Networking through forums can help build links and service exchanges as well. Reading posts from other users can often uncover a lotus blossom of knowledge.

Article databases create more opportunities for visitors to become aware of you and the information or entertainment that you have to offer. Allow these minions to do your bidding and bring traffic to your site.

Cunning

Never stop learning. Subscribe to two or three affiliate marketing newsletters. You have mentors with lessons to teach, open your mind and receive.

Search engines can seem both friend and foe. It takes a lot of work to master the search engine. Words are the key. You must diligently seek out the words that bring you the most visitors and include them in the content of your site. The tricky part is, however, that the perfect combination of words is constantly shifting as if you are building your structure on a sand dune. As the terrain changes, so must your site.

There are seers who can help you master the magic of the words – search suggestion tools. With these tools, you can assign value to the words that your site contains. Choose high-ranking key words that are related to the message of your page and gracefully weave them into your content.

Rewards

Join an affiliate program to find advertisers. Select your ads carefully to cater toward your targeted audience. Some sites do well with flashing banner ads, while others find text links to be more lucrative. Apply your cunning and study your ad campaigns continuously.

Pay per click programs are also available. The commissions are smaller than affiliate advertisers pay, but since visitors will click much more often than they will purchase, the small amounts add up quickly. Apply the key-word strategies and your pages will not only display ads that pay higher rewards for each click, but also ads that are of keen interest to your visitors.

Joint ventures are a combination link exchange/affiliate relationship, a way to share traffic to the mutual benefit of both parties. Look for joint venture opportunities from sites that have parallel interests to your own site. Inviting another person into your boat adds more rowing power and speeds you along your journey.

It’s a game! Enjoy each moment as you gain the next level. Remember that strength and cunning take time and determination to develop. But, as they grow so will your chests of treasure.

Computer Game Tester Jobs – Play for Pay

November 6th, 2009

The primary task undertaken by a professional game tester is the repeated organized testing of video games to discover, identify, and report bugs in the game to enable game programmers to correct the code causing those bugs. The work is repetitive, sometimes tedious. The game is played over and over again, often the repeated playing of one small game event using different tactics and strategies in an attempt to reveal an error. The game tester’s mission is to ensure that all bugs are found before game release, by him rather than after release by the customer.

The average week for a game tester is about 35 hours, although overtime can be significant during the crunch time immediately before the scheduled release date. Evening, weekend, and holiday work schedules are not unheard of. Most game testing is conducted onsite at the game company’s offices.

Experience is important in determining a game tester’s salary, but it’s not necessary to have any previous experience testing games to get your first job as a game tester. It’s important only that you enjoy playing video games and can do so for the purpose of revealing bugs and documenting the conditions under which they appear.

Game testers come from varied backgrounds, education, and degree of game playing experience. Some are artists or graphic designers who are using the game testing opportunities to establish credibility within the gaming company in the hopes of moving into character creation or game programming positions in the future. Regardless of their backgrounds, they all share some common characteristics: excellent oral and written communications skills, persistence and a willingness to play games repeatedly for long periods, a methodical and analytical approach to testing, ability to pay attention to detail, and a love for playing video games.

There is a need by all gaming companies to find good candidates for testing their games to ensure that only well tested, trouble-free products go out on the market. Nothing could damage a company’s reputation more than having to recall a game that simply does not work correctly. For many gamers with the right attitude, it can be a dream job, an opening into a career helping to develop video games. Imagine being able to earn a good income by playing video games, something you’ve been doing for years for nothing.

A word of warning, however, is required. Don’t let your enthusiasm for entering the industry blind to the fact that there are a number of scam artists out there, especially on the Internet, who are trying to make a fast buck by exploiting your interest for a game testing position. If any offer requires you to pay money up front for helping you secure game testing employment-walk away. It’s a scam. Video game companies that are looking for game testers will advertise in newspapers, industry journals, or on their company websites.

If you are wanting to become a video game tester then I highly recommend you check out Game Testing Ground, you can earn up to $150 A Day!
Please read the Game Testing Ground Review for more…

The Da Vinci Code: System Specifications Needed For The Da Vinci Code Computer Game

October 10th, 2009

System requirements are not just applicable to some games; these are part of every game. There is no game that exists today that does not have any system requirement for the computer to properly run the game. Aside from that, almost all game requirements are considerably on the part of the hardware device that a gamer must posses.

Video games have lesser system requirements or hardware device requirements because these games are preset to a certain device that is constantly made. Or it can be better said that game programmers adopts with the present hardware device or known as console that their game can play with.

Other video game makers make their own video game consoles which lessens the requirements of the system that is to needed to play the game. However, games cannot be regulated in the sense that only those game console makers are allowed to make game programs. There is no law that rules over the regulation of game production in that matter. There are plenty of independent game makers that are not connected, whether in part or in whole, with big game console producers. These game makers just depend on the mainstream hardware device that can be use for their game.

The most common hardware that is being used to play with certain games is the personal computer. However, there are plenty of versions and specifications that is present nowadays that a personal computer may have. You may find different makes and capacity of processors, video cards, sound cards, RAM, etc. in the market. These specifications are very helpful in thinking what your computer may do for you.

All games have their own system requirements. These specifications are required to attain a good sound, good video output and good playing output for the player. When one or several requirements are not met, chances are that the player will never enjoy the game to its fullest capacity. Just imagine playing a game with a choppy computer, or with a very poor sound, or even unrealistic display, surely one will never be happy with the game.

One of the games that may require special specification to the user is the Da Vinci Code. This game was inspired by the book and the movie that was shown early this year. This game is about Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveus quest for answers on the secrets of the Priory of Sion and other sects. Their quest was later situated in the game of death when they discover a very critical secret which can possibly ruin the Catholic faith.

The system requirement of the Da Vinci Code game is primarily applicable to personal computers. The basic system requirements are the ones being given ceiling.

Here are the system requirements for the game Da Vinci Code:

- Processor – the speed of the processor that is required to play this game is 1.8 GHz. The make is no longer important but the one made by Pentium is more advisable. The speed of the processor is the one that will determine how fast your computer will be able to execute any command from the game. This will be responsible in sending and accepting data coming from the user. The Da Vinci Code game requires speeds like this because visual display and other feature of this game are really high.

- Environment – this game can run in Windows 2000, Windows Xp or any higher environment available.

- RAM – the requirement of this game for RAM is as high as 512MB. This memory is used to temporarily store data that will be sent for the processor. The faster the RAM the faster the processor will execute.

- Disc Space – for a better gaming experience, the Da Vinci Cod Game requires 3GB hard disc space. Too large for a normal computer disc space but just perfect to play Da Vinci Code game.

- Video Card – for a good resolution of graphics, the game needs a 64MB DirectX 9c compatible graphic card.

- CD-ROM – the game require the average speed of the CD-ROM that equals to 6X. However, the game prefers the user to use a DVD-ROM instead.

In the game, there are places included that are not stated in the book nor in the movie. The player is going to solve meta puzzles and decipher codes from a cryptex. There are 90 levels that a player must finish. If your computer meets or exceeds the requirements, then you will have a better operation of the game allowing you to fully enjoy every aspect of it.

The Tower Defence Computer Game

August 29th, 2009

Tower Defence is an award winning strategy computer game whose main aim is to prevent the ‘enemy’ from crossing certain points and is achieved by building towers which shoot at the enemies as they approach. The player earns money or points whenever he defeats the enemy and the points are used to upgrade/buy more towers. Positioning the towers is the main challenge as it determines whether the player will have an advantage over the enemy if he correctly anticipates the moves of the enemy.

The history of the game goes back two decades ago in 1990 when it was started as an arcade game whose mission was to defend castles by placing cannons and making repairs whenever attacked. But with time the game has changed to use of user-created maps instead.

There are many forms of the Tower Defence games which mean that the strategies used by the players are different. The user of the desktop Tower Defence is supposed to make his own maze in order to find the enemy while for the flash element Tower Defence, the enemies run through an already created maze thus the player has the chance to plan on the most convenient place to place the towers.

Since its invention, tower defence has evolved to better and more exciting versions. There is the Ultimate Defence, Canyon defence, Elite Forces Defence, Omega Tower Defence, Picnic Basket, Protector, Revenge of the Stickmen, Ant Busters and many more versions. All these are created to provide unique skills and excitement to the players.

The game has many levels depending on the expertise and skills of the player. The easy level is for the beginners and earns fewer points while the difficult level is for the highly experienced players and earns more points for the player.

The Tower Defence can be accessed through browsing and downloading it from the internet.  Some mobile phone users whose handsets are compatible can also access the game.  Following its massive success and popularity, the game can also be found on video game consoles which provide a real thrill to the younger [players.

The Author is a professional writer, presently writing for tower defence and gaming entertainment topics.
