Before, awnings just served as protection from the sun and rain for houses. But now, awnings are included as part of a house’s or building’s architecture not only for its primary purpose, but also to add charm and create a statement.

* Material

The most commonly used materials for awnings are outdoor fabric and aluminum. Those made of outdoor fabric come in a variety of color and shapes; however, these require more maintenance than aluminum ones.

Those made of aluminum are sturdy and require less maintenance. These awnings, however, have limited design and color options.

* Angle

It is recommended that for windows facing east or west, the size of the drop should be 65-75% for the best efficiency. For a window facing south, the drop can just be 45-60% since less coverage is needed, as the sun has a higher angle from this direction.

* Side panels

Side panels may alter the architectural feel of the awnings. Side panels are also beneficial in adding coverage in a different direction.

* Stationary, Retractable or Freestanding

Roll-up and retractable awnings allow you to permit the sun to shine into the house during winter.

Retractable awnings are also good for patios or decks. These awnings have a mechanism that allows it to be extended as far as necessary.

Retractable awnings can also have motors and switches for ease in retraction. Some also have sun and wind sensors to automate the retraction.

Retractable awnings are not for heavy rains, high winds and snow, though. So make sure these are properly protected from such weather conditions.

Freestanding awnings may also be used for patios, decks or terraces. Business establishments, as these also double as an advertisement, usually use these.

* Size

Small awnings are used for their decorative effect. If you would like to maximize the protective function of awnings, choose the bigger ones.

* Style

The most popular styles are traditional with closed sides, traditional with open sides, dome style, double bar standard, waterfall, quarter barrel, gable walkway and semi-circular entrance.

To check the most applicable style for your house design and the direction of your windows, consult an architect.

* Color

Apart from considering what color goes well with your house or establishment, if possible, choose a light-colored awning since it does not only block direct sunlight light other awnings, but this also reflects sunlight. By doing so, it lessens the amount of heat that comes in.

Also to minimize the heat that comes into the house, make sure that there is a gap between the side of the house and the top of the awning to prevent the heat on the awning to be transferred to the house.

Well, it could appear thus, but remember – insurance is protection against the unforeseen. Liability covers you against lawsuits for bodily injury or property damage that you or family members cause to other people (I didn’t mean to shoot Joey with that BB gun, Dad), and the liability portion of your policy pays for both the cost of defending you in court and any court awards – up to the limit of your policy, of course. Your policy also provides no-fault medical coverage. In the event a friend or neighbor is injured in your home, he or she can simply submit medical bills to your insurance company.

Okay, okay, and the additional living expenses?

Well, what if your house is gone? What if a twister takes it to the Merry Old Land of Oz? Where are you going to live? This part of your coverage pays the additional costs of living away from home, if you can’t live there due to damage from a fire, storm or other insured disaster. It covers hotel bills, restaurant meals and other living expenses incurred while your home is being rebuilt. Although coverage can vary, and will depend upon the home insurance quote you received, many policies provide coverage for about 20% of the insurance on your house. The high Steaks poker Game Has begun; Hollywood watches and waits. As Bit Torrent takes on Apple in a battle for your video downloads.

Earlier this year Apple pushes for and gets removal of DRM (digital rights management) from music and video downloads on Itunes. Just as Bit Torrent goes head to head with Itunes on video downloads.

In February Bit Torrent Inc, the internet company founded by Bram Cohen opened it’s new entertainment web site.

For those who don’t know about Bit Torrent yet, it is a protocol, that can be used free of charge to download large files quickly over the internet using very little band width, It was invented by Bram Cohen. Last year Cohen’s company entered into agreements with several movie companies among them Paramount, Warner Brothers, MGM,20th Century Fox and MTV networks. This was the ground work for them to build their business model for a broad market video download service. MTV is a key company because of it’s market demographics.

Apple was quick to follow suit and made it’s own agreements with various movie companies.

This latest effort by Bit Torrent will offer a strong competition to Apple’s Itunes as well as other movie download sites, such as ,Walmart and don’t forget DirectTV and cable on demand services.

What Bit Torrent offers is rental downloads, purchase downloads and some free downloads. It also offers an opportunity for you to publish your own torrents. Very attractive to new producers of video content. This appears to be a move to create a home for original content providers at the Bit Torrent web site.

You might say that is all well and good but how do I watch the content on my big screen TV? Good question.

Two months ago Bit Torrent announced it’s partnership with the company Netgear , which has developed a small inexpensive interface cable box to use to transfer your movies, video and other content from your computer to your TV. Hmm…. sounds a lot like Apple TV.

In an interview on CNBC May 3, 2007 Patrick Lo, the chief executive of Netgear said that Netgear’s plan is to use it’s wireless networks in the home to drive content from the internet to the home TV and make everyone’s home a wireless network.

Not so fast Bit Torrent; last week Apple counters with , what else, video on demand.

London’s financial Times wrote an article indicating that Apple would be offering a video on demand download service in the Fall. And the downloads would be rentals that would cost $2.99. These rental downloads would be good for thirty days and could be shared on one or more of Apple’s devices, Apple TV, iphone or ipod.

This latest move by Apple seems to have placed Apple and Bit Torrent in direct competition with all other video on demand services, which include Amazon’s service, Netflix service and the cable and direct TV companies services.

The gamble would appear to be for Apple and Bit Torrent to drive these other services to a point where they are marginal players and for one of them, that is Bit Torrent or Apple to emerge as the consumer favorite for video and internet content downloads and streaming wirelessly.

A question arises; where is Microsoft in all this? Are they missing the boat again? Or just waiting for the dust to clear?

Hollywood is placing bets on as many power players as it can; hence the agreements with both Bit Torrent and Apple waiting to see who comes out on top.

Copy and paste is possible within applications, without returning to the office. The Dock icon provides access to a part in the library of virtual machines, but also PC applications. In addition to generally making the startup and sleep faster, the awakening of a machine can now be interrupted. Note also the possibility, even when a machine is paused, mount the hard drive as a disk image on the Mac. The Overview modes, full screen and Unity have been optimized. Full screen mode barrier to a command bar that allows access to various settings. A keyboard shortcut and an animation of state change as the finishing touch.

Unity mode has become very fluid and less consumer. How to Complete uninstall of VMware Server on Windows :

During the installation of VMware Server 1.0.5 on a Windows 2000 is a disk crashed and caused so rubbish on the IDE bus, the installation was aborted on the task manager, as no progress was observed more. Once the hardware defect was corrected, I wanted to make up the installation. However, I got to see the following message: 

VMware Server Standalone – Setup has detected that VMware standalone server is already installed on this machine. 

First Solution :

To remove an existing VMware Server installation in full accordance with the following command : 
The installation was then no longer possible. What I’ve tried everything. Again one again failed
Uninstalling on software was not possible, no entry
A uninstall.exe or something like it was not in the VMware directory
Delete all directories that are related to VMware and then manually clean the registry had no success
Uninstalling the VMware hardware such as network cards has brought nothing
vmware-install-file.exe /C command fix the installation issue.

After several hours of searching I found this :

A simple vmware-installationsfile.exe causes a force removal of the files once you delete that file then the removal was without problems.

Incase if you want that back :
VMware Server installation file to C: \ copy
Date in vmware.exe rename
Click Start, then Run and type cmd, and then press enter
The MS-DOS will opens. Here, the following command:
C: \ vmware.exe / c
Give next question with Yes to confirm and complete.
Second Method ( Ubuntu ) :

After a hard drive problem I was having the damaged Windows VMware Server does not install properly. A new installation is stopped . Here is a way to remove this completely from Linux machine. To uninstall VMware Player, first close all virtual machines that may be running. Then open a terminal and run the VMware-install with administrative rights. 

Now you know the name of the product to uninstall. For this, type the following command: 
~ $ Sudo vmware-install-l. Hit enter.
Locate the name of the product installed, then in a terminal, type: ~ $ sudo vmware-install vmware-workstation-u
uninstall vmware-workstation. You can also run the install file. Bundle It will detect that VMware is already installed and will proceed to uninstall it by typing: sudo VMware-Player-xxx-xxxxxx.i386.bundle
